If you find out that the famous VOCALOID Hatsune Miku suddenly cannot sing, what are you going to do?
Luckily, fans got the chance to know the answer in the advanced special screening of the highly anticipated animated feature film, the Colorful Stage! The Movie: A Miku Who Can’t Sing at Robinsons Galleria, Cinema 4, last April 12, 2025.
Fans were able to gather in this joyous moment and share the fond memory in their souvenir photos taken for free! Snacks were also given to the attendees upon entry.
The film is based on the popular rhythm game Project Sekai: Colorful Stage feat. Hatsune Miku, and animated by studio P.A WORKS. The game was initially released in Japan in 2020, before reaching further in its global release in December 2021, and accumulated over 39 million downloads worldwide (suits Hatsune Miku’s theme, isn’t it?)

The game explores the concept of high school students, brought together by their unique experiences and immense feelings for music which formed a variety of SEKAIs, a world connecting their feelings with music.
Even if you do not avidly play the game, it will tug your heartstrings and pull you into an all-new journey with the iconic character Hatsune Miku, together with popular characters from Virtual Group, twins Kagamine Rin and Kagamine Len, KAITO, and MEIKO, together with the fresh, new faces from different SEKAI groups.
The plot goes as follows:
Ichika is a high school musician who can enter a mysterious place called “SEKAI,” where she and her friends express their innermost emotions through music alongside Hatsune Miku. One day after giving a live performance, Ichika meets a new Miku that she has never seen before. No matter how hard this new Miku tries to sing, she struggles connecting with the hearts of her listeners. Miku must rely on the help of others to find a way to sing again.
