Puella Magi Madoka Magica gets a new anime film sequel

A new Puella Magi Madoka Magica film subtitled Walpurgis no Kaiten (Rotation of Walpurgis) was announced at the 10th Anniversary Stage event.

The film will serve as a theatrical sequel to the third film in the franchise—Hangyaku no Monogatari (Rebellion). The event also revealed a teaser visual (pictured) and teaser promo. Lead production staff and cast are returning from the previous anime instalments.

The event also announced that the Magia Record: Mahou Shoujo Madoka☆Magica Gaiden (Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story) smartphone game will feature a new story subtitled scene 0.

Magia Record: Mahou Shoujo Madoka☆Magica Gaiden

The Mahou Shoujo Madoka☆Magica Music Collection and Mahou Shoujo Madoka☆Magica Ultimate Best soundtracks will be released worldwide on Apple Music and Spotify on Monday. The franchise will hold an exhibition in Tokyo in late September, with additional regions planned afterwards.

Madoka Magica Exhibition

The series will also hold a 10th anniversary Madoka Magica exhibition this September. The exhibition will first be held at Matsuya Ginza in Tokyo before moving on to other regions. It will feature anime series planning and development materials, along with videos, original drawings, storyboards, and other items.

The anime film sequel and other announcements are part of the Puella Magi Madoka Magica 10th Anniversary Project that was announced in early 2021.
