“Pokédex of Daniel Arsham”, a collection of contemporary art works with the motif of “Pokemon”, was released today on February 4th.
This is a collection of works by contemporary artist Daniel Arsham, who grew up watching the animation of “Pokemon” and is working on the theme of “archeology as fiction”. Mainly sculptures of Pokemon “excavated 1000 years later”, 91 works such as drawings and paintings are recorded. This book is the first Japanese version of the work collection for Arsham. Those who purchase at Maruzen Junkudo Bookstore, Kinokuniya Bookstore, TSUTAYA, and Tsutaya Bookstore will receive a clear file using the photos of the work on a first-come, first-served basis.
Also, at the exhibition event “A Ripple in Time” to be held at 5 locations in Tokyo from February 5th to March 27th tomorrow, the works included in “Daniel Arsham’s Pokédex” will appear. At NANZUKA UNDERGROUND in front of Jingumae, a short animation produced in collaboration with director Kunihiko Yuyama , who is involved in the anime “Pokemon” series, and Arsham will be screened. In addition, “Daniel Arsham’s Pokédex” contains interviews in Japanese and English where Arsham and Director Yuyama talk about the behind-the-scenes production of the short animation.
