Japanese computer peripheral manufacturer, Buffalo, has collaborated with the Neon Genesis Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 film to release a film inspired HDD and SDD devices. The storage devices will feature designs with the NERV logo.
The concept was billed as a top secret “data supplementation project” and this is to commemorate the release of the fourth Rebuild of Evangelion movie, Neon Genesis Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0, in Japan.
HD-PGF1.0U3/NRV
The HD-PGF1.0U3/NRV is a 1TB portable external HDD with NERV-inspired design. The HDD features a shock-proof sturdy shell that protects your valuable “research” data and it supports USB 3.2 for fast data transfers. When plugged in, Windows will show a custom icon of the HDD which is really cool.
SSD-PGM480U3/NRV
The smaller and faster SSD counterpart to the HDD has a design that’s looks similar to a NERV ID that you bring to enter NERV facilities. Like its HDD counterpart, it features a shock-proof shell, USB 3.2 support, and a custom icon that shows in Windows when plugged in. However, the SSD is not only small in stature but also in the size of its storage capacity which only supports up to 480GB.
You may purchase your own NERV storage devices on the Evangelion Store (Online), Evangelion Store Tokyo-01, Evangelion Store Osaka, the official Buffalo Direct Shop, and Amazon Japan (SSD/HDD).
Evangelion has also collaborated with Tokyo Skytree which will soon end on March 31, 2021.
