Happiness Charge Pretty Cure Director Chiaki Kon to hold an online talk

MANILA (November 5, 2020) – The Japan Foundation, Manila is partnering with Animahenasyon PH: The Philippine Animation Festival again this year with an online film screening of Director KON Chiaki’s Happiness Charge Pretty Cure!: Ballerina of the Doll Kingdom (Nov 10, Tuesday, 11:15 am) and Virtual Director’s talk (Nov 10, Tuesday, 12:30 pm). A second online screening of Happiness Charge Pretty Cure! will be held on November 14, Friday, 8:00 pm.

Director KON Chiaki has worked with animation companies such as Studio DeenJ.C. Staff, and Toei Animation. She has been an episode director and storyboard artist of well-known animes such as Bleach, Chihayafuru, Naruto Shippuden, and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, among others. She has made her debut as a director in 2006 with the anime adaptations of “Higurashi no Naku Koro ni”.

Since then, she has directed various animated films and TV series including TV animation series of “Junjō Romantica” (2008-2015), “Nodame Cantabile” (2008-2010), and “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal Season III” (2016). Her latest films, “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal: The Movie” (Part 1 & 2), are coming in 2021.
