The UP Anime Manga Enthusiasts (UP AME) is the first ever recognized collegiate anime organization in the Philippines. They are also the same group behind previous successful events such as the Una kAME!, kAME Ulit!, AME Matsuri, AME Gakuensai and AME 8th Avenue.
AME NO JIDAI: Making History
COSPLAY COMPETITION
Registration:
1. The registration will start at exactly 10am and end at exactly 3pm. No late comers will be entertained. The registration booth will be located in the reception hall.
2. The participants must wear the costume upon registration.
3. The participants must have the following upon registration:
1. Four (4) copies of full body picture of the character.* No headshots allowed.
*excluding the Feudal Japan Cosplay category
2. Registration forms. The participant should fill-out four (4) copies of the registration form provided on the event. It will be submitted upon registration together with the full body picture of the character.
4. Registration for cosplayers of individual, group, Feudal Japan, and InuYasha categories will be separate.
5. For group cosplayers:
1. Please make sure to register all group members immediately.
2. Group cosplayers are limited to thirteen (13) members only. Three (3) points will be deducted from the final score of the group for every excess member.
3. Anyone not registered with the group will not be allowed to join your group later on.
4. Groups who will use background music for their skits will have their music checked during registration. If their discs, files, etc. arenít readable, they have the option to either do it without the music or forego the registration.
5. If by the time of catwalk a group is missing even one person, that group will be disqualified.
Costume:
1. If the cosplayer has a prop or costume weapon, s/he must secure it and use it only as a costume piece. Metal weapons will not be permitted under any circumstances. Cosplayers may use toy guns as substitute for real guns.
2. Substances that can be potentially harmful to people or damaging to property or equipment will not be allowed. Such substances include but are not limited to: pyrotechnics, explosives, paint, cigarettes, or any slime.
Prep Room:
There will be 2 dressing rooms designated to the cosplayers at the back. Dressing room 1 for male cosplayers, and dressing room 2 for female cosplayers. The rules and guidelines for using them will be the following:
1. The use for the dressing rooms will .start at 10am and will end at 7pm.
2. Cosplayers arenít allowed to use the restrooms inside.
3. Cosplayers will be allowed to use the baggage counter for their belongings, so please do NOT leave your things unattended inside the dressing rooms. UP AME will not be held accountable for lost items.
4. PLEASE KEEP THE ROOMS CLEAN.
Catwalk:
1. All entrants must adhere to the time limit for their appearance on stage. One (1) minute will be given to individual cosplayers, Feudal Japan-style cosplayers and InuYasha cosplayers, three (3) minutes will be given to group cosplayers without a skit and six (6) minutes to group cosplayers with a skit. Failure to comply with the time limit will result to the disqualification of the cosplayer or the group from the competition.
2. Cosplayers will be called out according to the order during registration.
3. No individual cosplayers will be allowed to use background music. They are also not allowed to perform skits, combinations, duets, etc. with other individual cosplay participants.
4. PROPS will have to be carried on and off the stage by the contestant or with the help of a (non-registered) assistant.
5. No dangerous STUNTS will be allowed. If you plan on doing anything out of the ordinary during your catwalk, please inform the cosplay coordinators immediately. Any cosplayer who violates this rule will be immediately disqualified from the competition.
Criteria:
The winner of the Cosplay competition will be decided by the judges in terms of these criteria:
1. CHARACTERIZATION - the truthful depiction of the Cosplay to the characterís over-all personality.
2. COSTUME - the closeness of the costume worn by the Cosplay to the costume of the character being cosplayed. Also, how the materials used for the costume making aid in the over-all appearance of the costume.
3. CREATIVITY - the innovativeness in terms of the whole Cosplay proper.
Breakdown:
Individual Cosplay:
Characterization=35%
Costume Accuracy=35%
Creativity/Craftsmanship=30%
Group Cosplay:
Characterization/Group Dynamics=35%
Costume Accuracy=30%
Creativity/Craftsmanship=25%
Performance/Skit=10%
Feudal Japan Category:
Costume (Originality, Creativity, Overall Appearance)=50%
Catwalk (Stage presence, Projection, Delivery)=40%
Audience Impact=10%

OTHER REMINDERS:
1. Please take care of your tags. Once you have lost your tag, you will be fined Php 20 before being given a replacement.
2. READ BEFORE ASKING.
* UP AME has the right to disqualify or deduct points from the total score to cosplayers who will violate any of the rules stated here.
